History and Trivia

This exhibit space in the China pavilion housed the "Land of Many Faces" exhibit starting 1999. This exhibit, prepared with the assistance of the Yunnan Provincial Museum in Kunming, China, displays the history and artifacts of four of that regions ethnic groups: the Miai, Naxi, Yi, and Mongols.

The exhibit space was later used to display a model of the terra cotta army that guarded the tomb of China's first emperor.
