History and Trivia

  • At this location: Frontierland Shootin' Arcade has been in this locatin since the park opened in 1971.
  • The Attraction's History: The original refitted rifles used in 1971 actually shot metal pellets. In addition to safety concerns, this raised questions about maintenance and the guns were quickly refitted to use a light-based system for triggering targets.
  • Other Trivia:
    • The guns: The guns used are authentic refitted .54 caliber Hawkins rifles.
