Special Activities

Trick-or-Treating: Scattered throughout the park are Treat Trails of trick-or-treat stations where you (and your kids if you feel like sharing) can load up on candy. At least one station in each Treat Trail will offer a healthy alternative like apples or carrots.

Costumes: Adults are not usually allowed to wear costumes into the parks but this is your chance, you can even attend dressed as Disney characters. Disney does reserve the right to reject specific costumes so do try to keep yours family appropriate and not dangerous to yourself or others. If you're dressed as a Disney character, regardless of how good the costume is, you cannot pose for other guests' photographs or sign autographs.

Halloween Screams Fireworks: A special Halloween-themed fireworks display just for party guests.

Mickey's Halloween Cavalcade: A mini-parade featuring the Disney characters in costume.  This parade will not be presented during the 2015 events because of the addition of the Paint the Night parade.

Paint the Night: Disneyland's new Electrical Parade will be presented during Halloween Party nights in 2015, replacing Mickey's Halloween Cavalcade.

Family Dance Parties: Dance with your family, characters, and other party attendees at dance floors set up for the evening. Locations will be marked on the event map.

Photo opportunities: Meet and greet with Disney villians and other charactes, some dressed in their own Halloween costumes. Locations will be marked on the event map.

History and Trivia

The event's history:

Mickey's Halloween Party debuted at Disneyland in 1995, and returned in 1996. It was discontinued after two years.

The Disneyland Resort revived the Halloween party in 2005, hosting Mickey's Trick-or-Treat Party at Disney California Adventure. In 2010 the combination of the popular World of Color water show and extensive construction throughout the park sparked a move across the esplanade to Disneyland park, where the event has been held since.

In 2015, the event was extended to 17 nights.
