History and Trivia

  • At this location: The original occupant of this ornate building was Red Wagon Inn (sponsored by Swift, a company whose logo was a red wagon). The restaurant was table service and served all three meals. In 1967 it closed and reopened as Plaza Inn with the lapsing of that sponsorship.
  • Over the years, Plaza Inn has gone through several format changes before settling on the current buffeteria format in 2001.
